Data Integration with Service Broker - For DBAs and Developers

Speaker: Faheem Ismat

Summary: Real Time Live Data Integration is done by event-driven data movement and transformation between SQL Server instances which may host databases with different schemas. One common requirement of Data Integration is that it should be reliable and transparent to source system(s) without significantly impacting the systems when events are captured and delivered. Reasonable data integration should support an intermediate format which allows decoupling of schemas between source and destination systems. Microsoft introduced a new platform "Service Broker" in SQL Server 2005, for building reliable, scalable, distributed, asynchronous and functionally rich database applications. Service Broker made it possible for developers to build a variety of database applications that were difficult, if not impossible, to build before. Faheem will discuss Service Broker in general and its usage for Real Time Live Data Integration (Live Data Migration).
